"Life's For Rent" is a mixed media piece created with traditional watercolours and acrylics, and then layered with digital artistry using Procreate. This artwork stands as a tribute to my beloved brother, who was suddenly and tragically taken from this world. Through this piece, I strive to encapsulate the complex tapestry of emotions we experience in the wake of loss and grief.
The abandoned car, overrun by tangled vines and nature's reclamation, features as a metaphor for a life interrupted and the intertwined lives and shared stories that endure. Upon the bonnet sits a solitary cat, both a personal emblem and a universal symbol. It represents the individual spirit, the shared bond, and the unwavering commitment to live life authentically, even when confronted with the ephemeral nature of existence.
Through "Life's For Rent," I hope to convey the enduring love that transcends physical presence. It serves as a poignant reminder of the profound impact our loved ones have on our lives —a celebration of the enduring connection between kindred spirits. This artwork also reminds us that love knows no boundaries, stretching beyond the constraints of time and space.
This is my second purchase of one of Kristy's art pieces. And this one blew me away. I ordered the A2 size and it is so crisp and clear. The paper is such high quality and the print almost looked like velvet. Such vivid colours and it really draws you in. I can't wait to get this on my wall.
