Putting my creative work out there has never been easy. In fact, it’s something I’ve spent years actively avoiding. I’ve spent countless hours on projects that no one has ever seen—entire novels written in months of ADHD hyperfocus—only to be destroyed because I couldn’t bear the thought of putting them into the world. The fear of sharing something so deeply personal felt like too much, so I convinced myself it was better to keep those stories locked away.
I’m learning that part of living is stepping outside of the comfort zone that keeps us safe but small. To share my art, to create Tidal Ember Art, and to truly show up is to embrace that part of me that wants to connect, and risk being seen. The part of me that wants to build something real.
That’s where the name Tidal Ember Art came in. It’s a brand that feels expansive, that speaks to something greater than myself, and that allows my work to exist in its own world.
The Story Behind Tidal Ember Art
When I chose the name Tidal Ember Art, I wanted something that would capture both the movement and the depth that inspires my work.Tidal represents the ever-changing, flowing nature of creativity, much like the ocean’s tides. It’s a symbol of movement, transformation, and the ebb and flow of emotions and ideas. For me, it’s also a personal connection to my brother, who loved the sea, reminding me of the powerful currents that shape our lives and relationships.
Ember reflects a steady, glowing warmth—a creative spark that endures even in moments of quiet or reflection. Embers may seem subtle, but they hold incredible power, symbolising the emotional depth and passion that fuel my artwork. It’s a reminder that even in life’s still or difficult moments, there’s always a warmth within that can reignite.
Together, Tidal Ember captures the dynamic balance between movement and stillness, emotion and creativity, light and depth. It’s a tribute to the natural world, the importance of connection, and the lasting impact of memory and love.
Thank you for being part of this journey. I’m grateful to open this door and look forward to the connections, stories, and reflections we’ll share together.
